Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the UGDoctor mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and UGDoctor Limited ("UGDoctor", "we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in Uganda.

2. Description of Service

UGDoctor is a digital technology platform that connects its users with licensed and verified doctors in Uganda. Users can:

• Book appointments with verified doctors
• Have video consultations
• Schedule in-person appointments
• Arrange home visits
• Make secure payments via mobile money
• Manage their health records

3. User Eligibility

To use UGDoctor, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age, or have parental/guardian consent
• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Have a valid Ugandan phone number
• Have legal capacity to enter into binding agreements

4. Account Registration

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Keep your phone number and OTP codes secure
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
• Not share your account with others

5. Medical Services Disclaimer

UGDoctor is a technology platform that facilitates connections between patients and healthcare providers. We do not:

• Provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
• Guarantee the availability of any specific doctor
• Employ the doctors listed on our platform
• Take responsibility for medical outcomes

All healthcare providers on our platform are independent professionals licensed by the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council.

6. Appointment Booking & Cancellation

When booking appointments through UGDoctor:

• Appointments are subject to doctor availability
• Full payment is required to confirm booking
• Cancellations made 24+ hours before: Full refund
• Cancellations within 24 hours: 50% refund
• No-shows: No refund
• Doctor cancellations: Full refund or free rebooking

7. Payment Terms

All payments on UGDoctor are processed through licensed mobile money providers (MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money). By using our payment services, you agree that:

• All fees are displayed before payment confirmation
• Platform fees are non-refundable except in cases of service failure
• Refunds are processed within 3-5 business days
• You are responsible for any mobile money transaction fees

8. User Conduct

When using UGDoctor, you agree NOT to:

• Provide false or misleading information
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Harass, abuse, or harm healthcare providers
• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to circumvent our payment system
• Reverse engineer or copy our technology

9. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the UGDoctor App, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, and software, are the exclusive property of UGDoctor Limited and are protected by Ugandan and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, UGDoctor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
• Service interruptions or delays
• Medical outcomes or advice given by providers
• Third-party actions or content

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service in question.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless UGDoctor, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

12. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified through the App or via SMS. Your continued use of UGDoctor after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the app's Settings > Account > Delete Account option.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Uganda.
